In the next episode of "Riverdale," Archie Andrews (K.J. Apa) takes matters into his own hands and calls on his friends to protect their own from the mysterious shooter.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "The Watcher in the Woods" was just released recently and showed Archie rallying his friends in the football team to protect themselves and everyone in the town against the shooter. The dangerous perpetrator is the same one who shot Archie's dad, Fred (Luke Perry), and may be the one who killed Geraldine Grundy (Sarah Habel). "From now on, we're protecting our own," Archie says with conviction.

It appears that the shooter sent a written message and calls himself the "Black Hood." It seems that Riverdale is not free of danger as the kids need to take extra care when going out at night. Kevin Keller (Casey Cott) sneaks around at night to meet his significant other who is yet to be identified. However, his friend Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) is concerned that he might cross paths with the Black Hood and get seriously hurt. "I want you to have more respect for yourself in this," she tells Keller.

It remains to be seen if the Riverdale gang can get more clues to the identity of the criminal and if anyone else will get hurt or killed.

In the last episode, Archie, Betty, Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), and Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) held a special party at Pop's Choclit Shop to show the community's support for the diner. Apparently, the restaurant did not do good business since the shooting of Archie's dad, which took place there.

However, after the party, an anonymous supporter bought the diner and agreed to let it stay in business with Pop to manage it.

"Riverdale" season 2 episode 3 will hit the airwaves on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
