Mary Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane) will face her old and new adversaries when "Reign" season 4 returns on The CW on Feb. 10 as part of the midseason line-up of the network.

The fourth installment of the historical fantasy drama will feature the growing animosity between Mary and her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I of England (Rachel Skarsten). As Mary spends time with her own people after living with her late husband Francis (Toby Regbo) in France, the Queen of Scots will have to defend her throne from the attempts of Elizabeth to thwart her.

But aside from securing her reign in her own country, Mary also have to find a suitable husband in season 4. TVLine previously reported in May that Mary will have two new suitors next season. The first one is the English nobleman named Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley, who has a very ambitious mother who wants him to secure a throne just like King Francis' own mother Catherine (Megan Follows). The other suitor is a "warm-hearted bad boy" named Bothwell, who is reportedly very in love with Mary.

Based on real historical facts, Mary will choose to marry Henry. If The CW will stick to the facts, Mary and Henry will have a son together named James VI of Scotland, who will be Queen Elizabeth I's successor to the throne.

Bothwell, on the other hand, will be Mary's third husband after Henry was mysteriously murdered. According to history, Bothwell is one of the accused in the death of Henry.

Lord Darnley is reportedly portrayed by English actor Will Kemp, while "EastEnder" alum Adam Croasdell will play the role of Bothwell.

Speculations also claimed that Mary could meet her own demise in "Reign" season 4 since Queen Elizabeth I managed to defeat the Scottish queen in history. This could mean that Kane will also depart from the series in the upcoming season.
