A legion players are now besieging Steam, particularly the "Rainbow Six Siege's" domain in the platform, as the latest downloadable content (DLC) brings the concurrent player count of the first-person shooter (FPS) to 100,000.

The new DLC, titled "Operation White Noise," was a resounding success, bringing in a lot more players to the tactical multiplayer game. This marks "Rainbow Six Siege's" highest ever player count in Steam, and it is still increasing at the time of writing. It is also worth noting that this concurrent player count was only for Steam and the PC, meaning that the users of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4) consoles might also add up to the massive number of gamers playing the FPS.

According to PC Gamer, some of the most exciting parts of the DLC were the two new operators and some of the newest drones. Additionally, the new map set in Korea, named Mok Myeok Tower, is reportedly one of the most exciting settings in-game, which may have been the reason for the sudden increase in player count.

The numbers that "Rainbow Six Siege" is pulling in now were also quite impressive, as they were apparently more than double that of the previous year. This was quite a feat for a two-year-old game. This brought the FPS to the fourth most played game on Steam right now.

Due to this, a third year of updates and new DLC have already been planned by the developers, and they have shown no signs of stopping or pulling out support from the popular game. It can also be considered as proof that continued developer support and dedication can make the make the game even more popular than when it was initially launched.

The next DLC is titled "Operation Chimera," and it will focus on biohazard specialists from France and Russia, as well as new operators with exciting abilities. There will also be a new game mode called "Outbreak," which is essentially a zombie defense/survival mode similar to Nazi Zombie in the "Call of Duty" franchise.
