"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" ("PUBG") is expanding its arena, as the developers have announced that a new map will be revealed in March.

This will make the number of available maps in the battle royale game three, though it is not yet certain whether the developers will include a feature which allows players to select their preferred map before joining a match. Additionally, no specific details regarding the new map have also been made available, leaving a lot of players guessing what the new setting of the map will be, with a lot of them wishing it was a rainforest or jungle map.

PUBG Corp., the game's development studio, has also apologized to the player base and community for not being transparent about their plans for the future of the game. This was because a lot of those had to be delayed due to the number of technical fixes they had to prioritize in order to make the game a lot more polished. In addition to that, the rampant cheating in the game also had to be addressed, leaving little time for the development of other features, consequently resulting in delays.

"We do have a lot of exciting things that we want to share with you, including new content to provide more extensive battle royale experiences as well as improvements and modifications to create a deeper and more realistic gameplay. In March, the team will reveal what you can expect from us in the first half of 2018 in terms of our development and new content plans which, by the way, include a new map," said the developers in an official statement.

Apart from that, they did not mention any details regarding the new content to be added to the game soon, though Gamespot suggests that the new map will be released sometime in July, three months after the reveal. Players are advised to stay tuned for further announcements from PUBG Corp. as well as waiting for the official new map reveal next month.
