Acclaimed manga writer Kyoichi Nanatsuki has new material for his fans.

The Shokugan Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine's 46th issue reveals that Nanatsuki is teaming up with manga artist Teppei Sugiyama to launch a new manga temporarily called "Tantei Nemo to Nanatsu no Satsujin Misshitsu (Detective Nemo and the Seven Secret Murder Rooms) this winter. It will be published in the magazine.

Nanatsuki, who wrote the manga "PROJECT A.R.M.S.," previously collaborated with manga illustrator Kyung-II Yang, who drew "Blade of the Phantom Master" and "Defense Devil." Their collaboration, "Area D — Inoryoiki" was launched in 2012 and ran until January 2016. Shogakukan published the 14th and last volume of the manga in February 2016.

Nanatsuki worked on "PROJECT A.R.M.S." along with manga artist Ryoji Minagawa for Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1997 to 2002. Viz Media published the manga's 22 volumes in English from 2003-2009.

The manga follows the story of a young man whose right arm was severed due to an accident. As the story develops, the young man, Ryo Takatsuki, discovers he was actually a test subject involving genetics and nanomachine implants. He meets three other teenagers who were also test subjects of the experiment and they set out to rescue Ryo's girlfriend from the company that implanted the nanomachine to Ryo and his friends.

The manga won the Shogakukan Manga Award for shonen manga in 1999.

It was adapted into an anime series for television in 2001 and had 26 episodes. A sequel to the anime series titled "PROJECT A.R.M.S.: The 2nd Chapter" was broadcasted in 2002.

Viz Media released the anime's first season in DVD format in 2002 and followed it up with the release of the second season DVD in 2004. Discotek Media relicensed seasons 1 and 2 of the animated series this year with plans to launch the DVD with Japanese audio, English subtitles and an English dub.
