Prince William and Duchess Kate stepped out on Oct. 9 to visit young people at British Charity MIND to raise awareness for mental health in keeping with World Mental Health Day. The visit is one of the latest in a series of events that the couple has been participating in to put the spotlight on mental illness and to help erase the stigma associated with it.

For the appearance, the Duchess was dressed in a black and white Tory Burch dress while Prince William wore a pale blue button down shirt and khaki colored trousers. The royal couple spoke with some volunteers at the charity and to some young people who have overcome mental health issues. They also saw workshops for the charity's Mindkit program, which aims to teach people various ways to build up mental health.

Raising awareness for mental health is one of the causes that the couple is passionate about. A source told People, "There will be plenty more from both of them through the autumn over the issue. The couple feel there is a real momentum building and people are really talking about it. They are feeling energized about it."

It was reported that later this month, the couple will visit Scotland to continue to help shine the light on the same cause.

Claudia Denington, a volunteer for MIND, told People that the Duke and Duchess "put everyone at ease" and that they genuinely wanted to hear about their personal experiences. When someone thanked the couple for raising awareness on mental health issues, Denington said that the Duke said that the volunteers and the people who have battled mental illness are "the real heroes" and that the couple wanted to hear more from them.

Denington added that the royals were "so down to earth and just [like] normal people, like any other couple." She said that they were very genuine and that the couple seemed to truly understand where they were coming from.
