'Pretty Little Liars' season 6: Sara Harvey's injury to be revealed

"Pretty Little Liars" has returned for the second half of its sixth season. The 5-year time jump proved to be a refreshing change for the series as the Liars are now older and dealing with more mature problems while being haunted by their past.

This week, Hanna (Ashley Benson) dealt with the demands of her boss, while Aria (Lucy Hale) continued writing Ezra's book which he abandoned. Spencer (Troian Bellisario) dealt with a reporter who kept asking about Charlotte's death instead of focusing on her mother's campaign, while Emily (Shay Mitchell) is receiving treatments in order to donate her eggs.

While all of the Liars appear to be getting by, one member of the A-team is struggling following an injury in the midseason finale. This season, it is expected that the show will reveal how Sara Harvey (Dre Davis) got injured. Last year, the Liars found Sara with a bomb as they tried to escape Charlotte's dollhouse, but Spencer was able to diffuse the bomb and Emily knocked Sara out before she could force them to go back to the dollhouse again.

When the show returned, Sara is seen being helped by people as she has lost the use of her hands. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter after the premiere, showrunner I. Marlene King said that what happened to Sara is similar to what happened to Jenna, because the Liars were responsible for Jenna's blindness.

"Obviously she can see, but she is impaired in a way that they feel responsible for, and that will come out sooner than later in the next couple of episodes," said King. The showrunner also teased that what happened to Sara took place before the girls left the dollhouse.

However, series star Janel Parrish appears to have revealed how Sara was injured when she responded to a fan's question on Twitter.

"She got electrocuted when she stopped the bomb in the finale!" Parrish wrote. "She can't use her hands." According to THR, the tweet has since been deleted and Freeform would not comment on Parrish's answer.

"Pretty Little Liars" airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Freeform.
