The new patch for "Outlast 2" has been released, bringing with it a number of tweaks to improve the game.

According to the post on the Steam Community website, the latest "Outlast 2" patch will offer several minor adjustments to its difficulty in some of its key areas and moments. "On Normal difficulty this will offer players a more appropriately balanced experience while still maintaining higher levels of challenge on Hard and Nightmare difficulties," the post from game developer Red Barrels also states.

The patch note also reveals that the game developer introduced a "global rebalancing" of all the difficulties of the game. However, it does not mention any specific detail regarding the reported rebalancing that will be implemented in the first-person survival horror video game.

It also removes the extra batteries when players are using the microphone. According to reports, this will finally reduce the game's battery consumption and allocate the game's battery life for its camera to help players see and function in the dark using its night-vision features.

The patch also increases the font size of the game's subtitles.

Other issues are also fixed with the new patch, including the missing dynamic lights on Intel HD 4000 cards, the dancing black squares that appear in the middle of the screen when viewed at some definite resolutions, as well as the issue with the different controller mappings and camcorder UI.

The latest "Outlast 2" patch also adds several command line parameters like the "-refreshrate 60" to lay down a favorite refresh rate, the "-notexturelimit" to eliminate the texture size limits of the game constructed upon a VRAM amount, and the "-borderless" parameter to introduce a borderless full screen without having to control the INI files.

The Simplified Chinese translation of the game has yet to be included in the new patch, but Red Barrels confirms that the version of the game will be ready sometime next week.
