The "Monster Hunter" franchise is almost ready for the world, as a day one patch has been announced for "Monster Hunter World" as it nears its Jan. 26 release.

Capcom has notified fans and pre-order buyers of "Monster Hunter World" that the latest and biggest entry in the saga will have a release day update for the game. This patch must be downloaded after the owners have acquired the full release. It is worth noting that this is only for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4) owners since the PC version of "Monster Hunter World" is still quite while away.

The official website of the game also gives some details for the said patch, which is expected to be around 815 megabytes (MB) in size and to make the game version 1.01. The patch is by no means mandatory, so eager players or those with poor internet connections can forego it, but they must keep in mind that the patch will activate the online multiplayer, event quests, chat, and other online features for the game.

This means that any additional content such as free downloadable contents (DLCs) will not be available to those who have not applied the day one patch yet. Not to mention, the online play is one of the most exciting features of "Monster Hunter World" as it enables groups of players to take down large monsters who may be giving the host trouble.

Apart from activating the online features of the game, patch 1.01 for "Monster Hunter World" will also be including some unspecified bug fixes and adding a Gallery mode to the main menu. This said Gallery mode will let players re-watch any cutscene they have unlocked in the game or may have missed.

As an added bonus and incentive to download the patch, the developers have also included Poogies, the adorable pet piglets that have appeared throughout the series, available for all players. These Poogies can also help the players carry items once they have formed a bond with them.

All this will be available for PS4 and Xbox One owners once "Monster Hunter World" gets released on Jan 26.
