In the next episode of "Modern Family," Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) takes part in a marathon to fulfill one of her longtime goals.

The synopsis and promotional pictures of the upcoming installment titled "Winner Winner Turkey Dinner" was released just recently and showed Claire going over the finish line of a marathon as her daughter Alex (Ariel Winter) looks on with a reserved expression. Gloria Delgado-Pritchett (Sofia Vergara) is there to also lend her support to Claire. Apparently, this is seemingly one of her longtime goals in her bucket list. Back at home, Gloria gives Claire a hug and appears very happy for her. However, Alex seems to be indifferent towards her mom as she types away on her laptop. Claire tries to confront her about it as Alex gives her a judging look. It remains to be seen what Alex knows about Claire's motives behind the marathon and what purpose it serves.

Meanwhile, Claire's husband Phil (Ty Burrell) works hard on a magic trick for the Thanksgiving party. Phil is known for doing mediocre magic tricks for the family's yearly celebrations. It seems that he is working extra hard on this one because he does not want to be seen as the family failure. Apparently, the family patriarch Jay (Ed O'Neill) will give a Thanksgiving toast at the party and mention each family member's achievements.

In the last episode, Claire threw a 10-year wedding anniversary party for Jay and Gloria. Phil was supposed to perform a magic trick at the celebration but found out that his wife thwarted his dream of becoming a magician many years ago. He felt betrayed at first but later forgave Claire who bought him a magic store to make amends.

"Modern Family" season 9 episode 7 will air on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
