Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander secretly wed in 5-star resort in Ibiza

"NCS: Manhunt" actor Michael Fassbender and "The Danish Girl" actress Alicia Vikander have reportedly tied the knot in the Spanish island of Ibiza over the weekend.

Rumors that the couple had married in a secret and exclusive ceremony in the La Granja resort started surfacing after the two were seen on the island. The Daily Mail published a series of photos of what was believed to be a brunch the day after the wedding. The two were noticeably sporting rings on their left hands, perceived to be wedding bands, which sounded like a confirmation of the exchange of vows that had happened.

Sources of People Magazine confirmed this and added that the wedding did happen on the island. The wedding was reportedly attended by family members and close friends. Prior to the marriage stories, the 29-year-old "Ex Machina" star and the "Assassin's Creed" actor were seen in Ibiza on Friday, Oct. 13. One of the assumed guests was "Shame" director Steve McQueen, who was seen with the couple at a restaurant.

News about the wedding broke out in September after The Sun reported that the couple was planning a private wedding ceremony in Ibiza. The news outfit's source claimed that the ceremony, to be held at the five-star resort, would be shouldered by Fassbender. He and the Oscar award-winning actress also went to the island in July, during which pictures of them kissing and hugging circulated.

Vikander and Fassbender first met on the set of the 2016 movie, "The Light Between Oceans," where the former played the wife of the "Shame" actor. Their romance was only made public after a year, but since then, the couple had remained mum about their relationship. The pair is also known for keeping things in private. In an interview with the Entertainment Weekly, Fassbender said, "I'm not going to talk about my private life with a total stranger, unless I feel like I need to."
