The long wait for Aziz Ansari's return for the second season of "Master of None" will soon be over, after Netflix announced the show's official release date next season.

The actor and series co-creator shared the trailer for "Master of None" season 2 on Twitter, showcasing the return of his beloved character Dev Shah in the US after a series of adventures to search for love in Italy.

According to the synopsis of the show's sophomore season, Dev will return to New York after travelling across the continent to face all the challenges in his personal life, including the problems involving his family. He must also deal with a new career opportunity and a complicated budding relationship with someone who grows very meaningful to him.

The trailer also features several cameo appearances from various artists like multi-awarded singer-songwriter John Legend and "Third Watch" star Bobby Cannavale. Also, Ansari's real-life parents Shoukath and Fatima Ansari also appear in the show's trailer.

Ansari talked about their plans for "Master of None" season 2 in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter back in August 2016.

"We covered so much stuff in season one and wanted to make sure the ideas we had in season two were equally interesting and the episodes were just as ambitious," the 34-year-old actor-comedian stated. "So we took a long break, and that's why season two hasn't come out yet. It won't come out until, like, April. I think the break helped us."

Aside from Ansari, "Master of None" season 2 will also star Eric Wareheim as Dev's best friend Arnold Baumheiser, Lena Waithe as Dev's lesbian friend Denise, Angela Bassett as Denise's mother, Danielle Brooks as Dev's agent Shannon, Ilfenesh Hadera as Lisa, and Condola Rashad as Diana.

Netflix will release the episodes of "Master of None" season 2 on May 12, Friday.
