Macbook Pro 2013: Apple's Back to School Promotion offers $100 App Gift Card with purchase of Mac Pro or Air

Apple has launched its back to school promotion for 2013 and students this year will enjoy $100 worth of Apps when purchasing a Mac for school.

Apple's site reads: "Buy a Mac for college, get a $100 App Store Gift Card – and also save with education pricing. Or buy an iPad or iPhone and get a $50 card."

When students apply Apple's education pricing, they will receive save up to $200 on a Mac depending on the model they choose.

For those thinking to buy a Mac, now is a good time to head to the Apple store and take advantage of the education pricing and the $100 iTunes gift card.

To qualify for the Apple Store gift card and receive education pricing on a Mac, you must be a college student (or be accepted to a college), a parent buying for a college student, or a staff/faculty member of any school.

Apple released its new line of Macbook Airs at the Worldwide Developer's Conference in June. The refreshed line looks much like last year's model, but the inside has been revamped, including 8 GB of ram, 3.0 USB , and the all new Intel Haswell CPU.

Fans were disappointed when a new line of Macbook Pros were not released at the event. However, the Macbook Air provides insight into the new Pros which are expected to release some time in the last summer or early fall.

The new line of Macbook Pros are expected to come packed with the same Intel Haswell CPU. The main benefits of the new processor means better battery life – up to 12 hours.

Further rumors suggest that the Pros may upgraded with the stunning Retina Display.
