Lamar Odom health update: reportedly 'doing much better'

Lamar Odom's health is said to be improving after he underwent two emergency operations. A source told Us Weekly that while the former NBA player is still getting "lots of treatment," the 35-year-old is said to be "doing much better, still little by little."

His estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, has been with him since he was taken to the Sunrise Hospital in Nevada after being Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel on Tuesday, Oct. 13. It was also reported that the reality star and her mother, Kris Jenner, arranged for Odom to be transferred to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

The source said that Kardashian left the hospital on Friday, Oct. 23, and while she will reportedly continue to see him, the 31-year-old will not be staying at the hospital, which she has done in the last couple of days "because he's doing ok and wanted some time alone with his kids." Odom has two children, Destiny, 17, and Lamar Jr., 13, with his ex, Liza Morales.

On Oct. 25, Kardashian attended her sister Kim's baby shower, and a source from Hollywoodlife said that Odom insisted that the reality star should be at the gathering.

"Lamar insisted Khloe go to Kim's baby shower because she has done so much for him and needs some downtime," said the source. "He said that family were the most important thing and told her that she shouldn't let her big sister down."

The insider added that Kardashian was hesitant to go at first and did not want to leave Odom's side, but "Lamar told her he would be ok and she can visit afterwards."

It was reported over the weekend that the former L.A. Lakers player suffered a dozen strokes, which affected his motor skills. TMZ reports that doctors discovered the strokes when they performed a brain scan on Odom. The site reports that Odom will undergo months of physical therapy and is said to be currently on dialysis.
