A lot of fans have been waiting for the release of Square Enix's "Kingdom Hearts III," but the developer has so far kept mum on when players will actually get a hold of the game. However, recent speculation put the release date somewhere in winter of 2018.

Xbox One and PlayStation (PS) 4 owners have so far been struggling with just bits of teasers that the developers have released. However, one Twitter user recently claimed that the game would be launched at Target by Nov. 1, 2018.

User @Speedycerv noted Target's message saying that his preordered "Kingdom Hearts III" had changed its release date. "The new release date is Thursday, November 1, 2018," the listing read.

Gamers had dubbed this date as a "placeholder," which is a common deed for retailers. The listing, however, should be viewed with skepticism, as it did not come from Square Enix.

Meanwhile, Comicbook noted that though this was not the final word with regards to the release date, some information was worth noting. Retailers, like Gamestop and Best Buy, who use placeholder dates tend to release the item at a later date.

"Kingdom Hearts III" is one of the most awaited games in the recent months, placing third on a survey conducted by gaming magazine Famitsu. The survey was conducted from Oct. 19 to Oct. 25, with the role-playing game (RPG) garnering 438 votes, following "Final Fantasy VII Remake" (739 votes) and "Monster Hunter World" (790 votes).

"Kingdom Hearts" is a game focusing on Sora who travels various Disney worlds with Goofy and Donald. One trailer showed Sora and the gang being shrunk into toys and then fighting Heartless rebels that had wreaked havoc in the "Toy Story" world.

"Kingdom Hearts III" will be available to Xbox One and PS4.
