With the cancellation of "19 Kids and Counting," there has been speculation that TLC is planning to feature Jill and Jessa Duggar in a spinoff focusing on them. Now, it is confirmed that the sisters are returning to TLC to film a series of specials. The show will feature Jill and husband Derick Dillard as they make arrangements to move to Central America, and Jessa and husband Ben Seewald as they prepare for the birth of their first child.

"What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child and we'll be watching Jill preparing to make a move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in," TLC Executive Vice President and General Manager Nancy Daniels told the Daily Mail.

Daniels revealed that the project came together after network executives talked to the sisters, who confirmed that the specials were something they would like to do. The specials will reportedly be composed of two to three episodes, and there is no word yet whether their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, or any of their siblings will be appearing on the show

"We know that our audience is really excited about what's going on with Jill and Jessa as they move into young adulthood," Daniels added.

The Duggar family's reality show was cancelled by TLC earlier this year after it was revealed in May that Josh Duggar molested five minors when he was a young teenager. The victims include his sisters Jill and Jessa.

Following the cancellation, the sisters made an appearance on the TLC documentary "Breaking the Silence," which aimed to raise awareness of the effects of child molestation and educate viewers to prevent it from happening.

With the show taken off air, both Jessa and Jill have stayed active on social media, updating their fans about their lives off-cam. Jessa is 34 weeks pregnant and is due to give birth on Nov. 1, while Jill and Derick have taken a break from their missionary work in Central America and are back in the U.S. Jill recently passed a midwives' exam and is now a certified professional midwife.

Jill and Derick took to their family blog on Sept. 24 to confirm news of the upcoming specials..

"We are looking forward to reconnecting with everyone with the new specials on TLC," they wrote. "We appreciate your prayers."
