Marvel's "Jessica Jones" will premiere on Netflix in two months, and while the streaming service has previously released a teaser trailer for the new series, not much was revealed about the show's premise or its characters. Now, Netflix has released new promo stills for the upcoming show, which features Krysten Ritter as the titular heroine.

In the photos released on Hitflix, one shot shows Jessica garbed in a black jacket and a grey scarf, giving someone a sideways glance in the subway. Another photo shows her talking to her best friend Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), a former model who is also known as Hellcat. One still shows Jessica walking alongside "The Matrix" star Carrie Anne Moss, who plays Harper in the series, while another gives a first look at Luke Cage (Mike Colter) which sees the hero tending a bar.

In the Marvel comic books, Jessica Jones was a classmate of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. She developed a crush on him but never told him about it. One day, as she and her family were on their way home, a military convoy carrying radioactive chemicals collided with their car, which killed her family instantly. Jessica was the sole survivor of the accident and when she recovered, she discovered that she had superhuman powers, which include incredible strength, durability, and the ability to fly. At one point in the comics, she also becomes Luke's love interest and she has a baby with him.

Executive producer Melissa Rosenberg recently spoke with E! News about the show, and she revealed that the series is "more character driven" than anything seen in the Marvel universe.

"We have a very talented actress, Krysten Ritter, and it's her face all the time. Our reality is extremely grounded," Rosenberg explained.

The executive producer also said that Jessica doesn't fly but "she can jump many stories, and she lands really badly, which is why she doesn't do it too often."

"Jessica Jones" premieres on Nov. 20 on Netflix.
