'Jane the Virgin' season 2 update: New trailer teases Jane's choice between Michael and Rafael

The second season of "Jane the Virgin" will see a lot of changes for Jane (Gina Rodriguez) as she now has a baby. She'll also have both of her parents in her life as a couple after her mother Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and her father, TV star Rogelio (Jaime Camil), got married in Sin City.

And while Jane copes with the challenges of being a new mom to baby Mateo, one thing that remains the same is that she's still torn between Michael (Brett Dier) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni).

In the teaser trailer for the upcoming season, the two men are standing before Jane, and Rafael tells her, "Just tell Michael to move on."

"Just tell him how you feel, Jane," Michael says.

Jane shrugs and says, "The truth is, I'm in love with," and the clip ends with a cliffhanger, so viewers will have to tune in when the show returns in less than two weeks.

In promo stills for season 2, it looks like Michael and Rafael will be forced to spend some time together even though they're both vying for Jane's heart. In the pictures on PopSugar, the two men are seen having a serious conversation. But does it have something to do with Jane, or have they temporarily set aside their differences to do something important?

It's possible that they could be teaming up to bring back Mateo. In the season 1 finale, the baby was kidnapped by Sin Rostro hours after his birth. When the new season begins, there will be no time jump and the episode picks up where it left off, right after Jane found out that her baby was kidnapped.

Speaking to Deadline, executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman said that in the season 2 premiere, fans will know the reason why Sin Rostro kidnapped the child and what Jane and her loved ones will do to get Mateo back.

"There's a very specific reason that the baby was taken, and there's something specific that Sin Rostro wants," said Urman.

"Jane the Virgin" season 2 premieres on Monday, Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
