iPhone 8 release date, specs rumors: Leaked schematics reveal new iPhone 8 features

More speculations about Apple's next-generation iPhone continue to come out, while the Cupertino-based tech firm remains mum about the upcoming device's features.

Recent reports spotted a new post on Chinese social media site Weibo showing the rumored iPhone 8 schematics that are believed to be showing the technical drawings for the upcoming iPhone. The leak reportedly came straight from Foxconn.

Based on the Weibo post, the drawing features the front and back views of the iPhone 8. The device appears to have less bezels on both its left and right sides, while its top and bottom bezels look smaller compared to those in the currently available iPhone 7.

The back portion of the device also appears to have a dual camera system, and the rear flash located on the device's top-left corner looks vertically stacked. It also features the vacant space that is believed to be left available for the Touch ID fingerprint sensor that will be placed just below the iconic Apple logo.

On the right side of the post, a table with the rumored dimensions of the iPhone 8's body can be seen. Based on the information, the size of the upcoming smartphone can be compared to the 4.7-inch variant of the iPhone 7 even if the next-generation iPhone will come with a bigger screen.

Meanwhile, other reports claim that the rumored iPhone 8 will come with several features. These include the Touch ID that can be seen in the front display, the 2.5D contoured glass on both the front and back portion of the device that will be enclosed in a metal frame, the discreet front-facing camera that will be concealed under the device's display, and the wireless charging capacity.

Apple has yet to confirm the rumored specs of the upcoming iPhone 8 line, but it is expected to be launched before the end of 2017.
