The reviews are out for the new movie "Insidious: The Last Key," which received dismal feedback from critics who generally felt that it was uninspired, predictable, and generic.

The suspense-horror movie, directed by Adam Robitel, received an inferior 25 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a source that aggregates review grades from different entertainment sites. Here are what some of the reviewers had to say.

Richard Roeper from the Chicago Sun-Times expressed, "The 'Insidious' timeline is becoming so murky, even a scary ghost lurking behind a locked door in the basement might give up and say, 'Time out! Am I even supposed to be in this particular story? Who am I haunting again, and what's my motivation?'"

Scott Tobias from NPR said, "Four films into the series, the layout of the spirit realm has become too familiar, a soundstage of fog machines and grotesquerie that Robitel and Whannell haven't populated with any fresh shocks."

Adam Graham from Detroit News stated, "If you've seen one "Insidious," you've seen them all."

This is the fourth iteration of the popular "Insidious" series, and it centers around parapsychologist Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) who has appeared in the previous films. Her investigation into the "further" becomes more personal as the strange occurrences happen in her family home. She goes back to her old town with her old team to investigate a horrific sighting of a ghostly entity.

This creature appears to have keys at the tips of its fingers which it uses to point at the neck of its victim. Rainier has to try and find out why this new entity has decided to inhabit her old home. Moreover, she needs to know what the agenda of this creature is and how the team will be able to get rid of it.

"Insidious: The Last Key" is now showing in theaters nationwide.
