"Hellboy" is making a much-anticipated comeback and Millennium Films is reportedly in negotiations with producers Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin to get the popular comic character back in the game. With the "Stranger Things" star David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper in the Netflix original series, starring as the title character, the relaunch of the series is expected to be explosive.

The current working title of the reboot is "Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen." Aside from Gordon and Levin, Mike Richardson is producing the new installment. Directed by the man behind "The Descent," Neil Marshall, the film is told through the script created by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and the creator of the series himself, Mike Mignola.

"I can't really talk about specifics with regard to the story, which they're keeping a pretty tight lid on at the moment, but I can say that this is a darker, more gruesome version of 'Hellboy.' Neil said from the very beginning that he wanted to walk a razor's edge between horror and comic book movie, which was music to my ears, because that's what I was shooting for in the script, and precisely what Mignola does so well with the comics," Cosby told Silver Screen Beat.

Reports say that the script is done but is far from the final output. Cosby, Golden and Mignola are still continuously working hard to make sure that the "Hellboy" relaunch is as powerful as it can be.

Mignola first introduced "Hellboy" in 1993 with Ron Perlman starring as the red, impenetrable, cigar-smoking beast. The studio has yet to release an official announcement regarding when the reboot is expected to hit the theaters but if Harbour is in talks with the producers and with a reputable director spearheading "Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen," fans are expecting to receive more in-depth details soon enough.
