When "Grey's Anatomy" premieres its first episode for its 12th season, the show will have Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) back on her feet after she has grieved the death of her husband, Derek (Patrick Dempsey). Now, TVLine has the scoop on the premiere episode and what Meredith and the other doctors will be facing this season.

According to the website, the premiere will center on two young girls admitted to Grey Sloan Memorial, and their "powerful" story will make some of the staffers look back and reflect on how bullying has turned them into the people they are today.

ABC has released a few stills for the premiere, which show some new doctors coming to shake things up at the hospital. In one photo, "Chasing Amy" star Joey Lauren Adams is seen talking to Callie (Sara Ramirez) as new cast member Giacomo Gianniotti comes through the doors. Adams' character is also seen talking to the doctors during a meeting.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Adams will play Bailey's (Chandra Wilson) rival for the position of new Chief. The website reports that Catherine Avery (Debbie Allen) has picked Adams' character as a new candidate for the position.

Show creator Shonda Rhimes told EW that fans will get to see Bailey making a play for the much-coveted position.

"We're going to see what it means if she does or doesn't get it, and we're going to watch her struggle with growing up in that sense," she said.

More photos on TVLine show Gianniotti's character interacting with the other doctors and even getting into a flirty exchange with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). The "Reign" alum's casting was reported by the website earlier this year.
Maggie (Kelly McCreary) is also seen talking to the parents of the girl who was bullied in school, and from the looks of the girl's injuries in the photos, it looks like she was badly hurt during her encounter with the bullies.

Season 12 of "Grey's Anatomy" premieres on Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
