Filming for the seventh season of "Game of Thrones" is ongoing in Spain, and new reports suggest that several epic battles will be seen in the upcoming installment of the HBO series. Earlier this month, paparazzi photos taken near the set indicated that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) will have their first meeting in season 7, and now, new reports suggest that the battle for the Iron Throne is about to take place when the show returns.

According to Watchers on the Wall, production has moved to the Almodóvar del Río castle in Córdoba, Spain to shoot for the week. It was said that scenes at the castle will depict parts of Highgarden, which is the House of Tyrell. A conflict between the Tyrells and the Lannisters will reportedly take place inside the castle. At one point during filming, a Lannister flag was seen flying over the Tyrell castle's walls. This means that Highgarden will be taken over by the Lannisters, as their last act of revenge against Olenna Tyrell's (Dianna Rigg) family.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that the same castle will be used as the setting for Casterly Rock, which is known to fans as the ancestral stronghold of the Lannisters. Jacob Anderson, who plays Grey Worm on the show, was spotted on set dressed as his character, and sources told the site that upon Daenerys' orders, the Unsullied Commander will lead his men to assault Casterly Rock.

It was claimed that the Khaleesi will join the battle as Daenerys, mounted on a dragon, will lead her Dothraki army in an ambush against Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Bronn (Jerome Flynn), and the Lannisters who have just sacked and taken over the nearby castle.

If the reports are accurate, then viewers will be in for a battle scene as memorable as last season's penultimate episode, and as chilling as season 5's "Hardhome."

The new season will only run for 7 episodes, but filming is far from over as WoW reports that more scenes will be filmed at Trujillo Castle on Nov. 15, Malpartida de Cáceres from Nov. 16 to 18, Barrueco de Arriba from Nov. 19 to Dec. 10, and at the Old Town of Cáceres from Dec. 12 to 14.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 premieres in summer 2017 on HBO.
