"Friday the 13th" will be getting more frantic, as the developers have revealed the new "Paranoia" free game mode for the multiplayer murder simulation.

The mode will be free for everyone to access as long as they own the game. Developer and publisher Gun Media has also uploaded a creepy and ominous teaser trailer for the mysterious "Paranoia" game mode of "Friday the 13th." The teaser does not reveal much, but it sets the tone with multiple flashes of a skull, as well as Jason Vorhees' iconic hockey mask and the character of the game.

No release date has been announced yet, and Gun Media has not given any indication that it will be coming soon. There are also no details yet regarding the upcoming game mode and its mechanics, but fans speculate that the mode will disguise the killer as a camp counselor. This means that the players will have more difficulty locating the killer, adding a more exciting gameplay twist to the existing formula.

True to its name, the "Paranoia" game mode will also cause a lot of mistrust and, of course, paranoia, as players try to keep their guard up all the time since anyone could be the killer. The killer could also act as a regular survivor player until he is able to isolate one and do the deed.

A marketing campaign has also been initiated by Gun Media for the new game mode with a hashtag #whoisfiVe, which fans have theorized could refer to the fifth "Friday the 13th" film, "A New Beginning," where the killer turns out to be a copycat of Jason instead of the real horror icon. This makes the first speculation even more plausible as the burden of killing hapless teenagers falls not into Jason's hands but a psychotic with an innocent civilian cover.

No exact release date yet has been announced for the new game mode, but "Friday the 13th" is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
