"The Walking Dead" and "Supernatural" actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is still intent on donning Batman's cowl and the cape, that is, Thomas Wayne's Batman from DC's "Flashpoint" storyline, as the actor speaks up about his fondness for the character.
Morgan apparently wants in on the rumored upcoming "Flashpoint" movie adaptation, which is supposed to be one of The Flash's best stories ever penned for the comic books. As such, "Flashpoint" was bound to happen as one of the solo movies for "Justice League's" The Flash, as an introductory standalone movie for the character, similar to the solo movies of Batman and Superman from the cinematic DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
It can be recalled that Morgan already played Thomas Wayne's Batman back in a dream sequence for " Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" in which he can be seen as a gun-toting Dark Knight who, unlike the real Batman, has no reservations on killing people. Morgan also wants everyone to know that he is not gunning for the role because he needs to but because he wants to, other than the notion that he would also be a good fit for the character.
"We'll see. I mean, look, DC is DC and they'll figure out what they're going to do next. But I'm highly aware of the character, I will say that. I'm highly aware of the character, and it would probably be a thrill of a lifetime to put on the Batsuit," according to Morgan. Morgan is also admittedly quite familiar with the character already and knows why he existed and what exactly his background is.
For those unfamiliar with Thomas Wayne's Batman, he is actually Bruce Wayne's (a.k.a. the real Batman) father who, in an alternate universe caused by The Flash, was the one who survived the traumatic event that would have made Bruce the Batman. Though it was his son Bruce and his wife who died, making Thomas a much more violent Batman who wields guns and has less noble morals.
This makes Thomas Wayne/Flashpoint Batman the darkest version of all the Batmen, something which has an allure to Morgan given the characters he played in Hollywood. It should be noted that "Flashpoint" is actually a flash movie with Thomas Wayne's Batman in it and not a Batman movie, as such, it will be about The Flash and his exploits to correct the damage he did to the DC timeline due to his time-traveling powers.
For now, it is not clear when "Flashpoint" will happen in DCEU, or if it will ever happen at all, regardless, Morgan will probably be around and ready for the character.
