'Fist of the North Star' news: Upcoming game introduces characters in new commercial

The video game adaptation for "Fist of the North Star" shines bright even in television, as a new live-action commercial has just been released in Japan for the game.

The said commercial also features PlayStation spokesperson Takayuki Yamada who apparently buffed up for the one-minute commercial since he played Kenshiro, the muscle-bound protagonist of the anime and the video game. The commercial is one of the few marketing schemes to promote the highly anticipated "Fist of the North Star," which is an adaptation of the anime and manga of the same name.

In the said commercial, Yamada is seen training in the gym with absurdly loud training vocalizations and jumps from equipment to equipment wearing a shirt designed with Kenshiro's torso. Yamada suddenly had to transform into Kenshiro's physique after seeing a woman named Ai Tomori that reminded him of the opening theme for "Fist of the North Star" named "Ai wo Torimodose."

Yamada buffed up and increased in height similar to that of Kenshiro and proceeds to carry Tomori but is slapped and embarrassingly loses his footing. Afterward, Tomori can be seen cleaning up Yamada's slap wound with a cottonball, which apparently hurt Yamada. This is all in preparation for the eventual release of "Hokuto Ga Gotoku (Fist of the North Star)" for PlayStation 4 (PS4) on March 8.

For those unfamiliar, "Hokuto Ga Gotoku" for PS4 takes after the established universe of the manga and anime but does its own twist for the game where the story takes place in an alternate universe but with the same Kenshiro who also wanders into the post-apocalyptic haven of Eden in search of his lost love Yuria.

Along the way, Kenshiro must wade through lawless gangs and what is left of the human race, usually violent human beings preying on the weak and scavenging for resources in order to survive. Kenshiro has an edge since he is actually the successor Hokuto Shinken, an ancient assassination art passed down from a single line of successors and using that to survive, he will have to work his way through the scum of Eden in order to find his lost fiancée.
