"Final Fantasy 15" is about to hit stores next week, and ahead of the game's launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, fans have started scouring the internet on the upcoming title's gameplay details. Ahead of its launch date, Square Enix took to social media to announce that they will be releasing the game's first update in a day one patch today.
The game developer took to the official "Final Fantasy 15" Twitter account on Nov. 18 and wrote, "We've important news Monday about further enhancements and upgrades the dev team have added to #FFXV for release day on 29th November."
Square Enix said that the game went gold, which means that development is done and the publisher has deemed it good enough to be shipped to stores, but apparently, the team "wanted to carry on working and add extra features, so we'll tell you about them next week." The developer added that the extra features will be available as an automatic download from launch day.
No details about the update were released, and it is expected that Square Enix will be divulging more information in a few hours.
Apart from its first update, it has also been revealed that there are plans for a downloadable content called the Comrades Pack. According to the game's DLC director, Haruyoshi Sawatari (via Gamerant), the final DLC pack will add four-player online co-op to the game.
With this add-on, one player will play as Noctis, while every other player will control his party members as they go on online adventures. It was said that the DLC could take players to new locations not found in the main game, but Sawatari said that the multiplayer DLC for the upcoming title is still in the planning stages.
As of the moment, nothing has been revealed regarding the DLC's setting or how it fits into the game's storyline, so fans will have to wait until mid to late 2017 for the game expansion.
"Final Fantasy 15" will be out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Nov. 29.
