However, he was not able to see things out and make the final, but ended up being unceremoniously knocked out.
So far in this year's French Open Tsonga has won all four of his games so far without losing a set, and he appears to be in top form. Federer meanwhile was forced to come back from two sets to one down against Gilles Simon in the fourth round. Although that was a scare Federer showed his class to come through and claim the win despite not putting in a top performance.
