'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2 premiere: plot to take the terror in the water

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 may already be over, but things are not slowing down for the show.

"Fear the Walking Dead" creator Dave Erickson is already talking a lot about plans for season 2 of the show. AMC even released a teaser already to hype things up for excited fans and give them a taste of what's ahead.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 1 saw Strand (Colman Domingo) running away on his yacht to escape the dead without Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez), who Travis (Cliff Curtis) shot after being bitten by a zombie. It also featured Ofelia (Mercedes Mason) almost getting hit by a shot from Daniel's (Ruben Blades) soldier.

Erickson revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that there will be a lot of water scenes in the next season. He said that "Fear the Walking Dead" season 1's ending at the coast is actually a set-up for what the story is heading into.

According to Erickson, season 2 will show how being on land is no longer safe and that being in water is probably the survivors' hope for survival. He noted that there are a lot of boats in L.A. County, and people will be taking advantage of that in order to survive, no matter what.

"If you look at Strand's yacht, it's a pretty handsome vessel. It's something that you can survive on for a good period of time and that's something others might covet. So when you get to the question of what's worse, walker or human, we'll continue that theme."

Though there would be a lot of things going on in the seas, there would also still be action on land. And with people in the water, the question of whether the zombies can run after them there lingers. Erickson supposed that the zombies can't walk on water, but he continued by saying that he still have to confirm the information with his co-creator.

"I have to confirm this with Robert," Erickson said. "Walkers can't swim... I'm sure they'd eventually bloat."

Wherever the action is going to be for next season, "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 fans can rest assured that a lot of exciting things are going to happen when the show returns to AMC in 2016.
