'Fallout 4' VR news: VR version expected to become a 'groundbreaking' title for VR games industry

The upcoming "Fallout 4" virtual reality (VR) is being groomed to become a "groundbreaking VR title," according to an executive from AMD.

According to a report from MCV, AMD corporate vice president Roy Taylor revealed during the VR World Congress that they are planning to turn the planned "Fallout 4" VR game to become the "Mario, the Sonic the Hedgehog" game of the VR industry.

"It will change the way we think about VR," Taylor stated. "It will be an industry changer."

AMD got its first-hand information regarding some of Bethesda's upcoming major projects after the semiconductor manufacturer and the gaming studio entered "a long-term strategic partnership to rapidly advance game technology development, fuel new PC game experiences, and reshape the gaming landscape" back in February.

Their partnership includes the development of the VR version of the critically acclaimed "Fallout 4" open-world post-apocalyptic video game.

Taylor's sentiments regarding the VR edition of "Fallout 4" are similar with the statement of Bethesda's vice president Pete Hines during an interview with HipHop Gamer during the PAX East 2017 event in March.

"I talked to Todd [Howard] the other day and I was like, 'Hey how's Fallout 4 [VR] coming?' and he said, 'Pete, Fallout 4 VR is the most incredible thing you've ever seen in your life. You can't even imagine what it's like playing in VR and how realistic it looks with everywhere you turn your head. It's gonna blow your mind. It's the craziest thing you've ever seen,'" Hines stated during the interview.

The VR edition of "Fallout 4" is being groomed to be the first major VR title that players can reportedly spend a lot of hours playing with. However, Bethesda has yet to reveal more information about the game, including its official release date.

"Fallout 4" VR is expected to come out sometime in 2017.
