Duggar family news: Did Jim Bob Duggar offer Anna a new house to keep her from divorcing Josh?

Earlier this year, there were reports that Anna Duggar was thinking about divorcing Josh Duggar after he admitted to being unfaithful to her following the revelation that he had an Ashley Madison account. Josh has entered a long-term treatment center to seek help for his addictions, and while he's there, Anna and her children have reportedly been staying in Florida with her parents and, at times, sleeping at the Duggar's main home in Arkansas.

In hopes of saving Anna and Josh's marriage, Josh's father Jim Bob Duggar reportedly bought a $345,000 brick home and is said to be giving it as a gift to the couple.

According to In Touch magazine (via OK!), Jim Bob bought the house to prevent the couple from getting divorced.
"Jim Bob has hinted to his daughter-in-law Anna that she could get the house," a source told the magazine. "Offering Anna the home is just a ploy to get her to abandon any idea of divorcing Josh."

The insider added that "nothing is set in stone" with regards to the new house, but the home is allegedly being offered to Anna so that she wouldn't leave her husband.

The property is described as a 3,800-square foot brick house on two acres of land and is very near the Duggar compound. While a new home would be a welcome gift for many people, Hollywoodlife reports that Anna rejected Jim Bob's offer.

"A big fancy house is not that impressive, and [Anna] says she simply can't be bought," said a source to the website. The insider added that the mother of four has "a new sense of self" and won't be putting on "the happy family show" just to please Jim Bob and Michelle.

Another source told Hollywoodlife that Jim Bob isn't done trying and will allegedly do anything to keep the couple's marriage from falling apart.

"If Anna leaves Josh it will be the nail in his coffin for Josh and the rest of the family," said the source.
