Earlier this week, it was reported that Drake will be releasing his highly anticipated album, "Views From The 6" very soon, and the rapper shared the good news himself on OVO Sound Radio, (via The Fader) saying that the album will be out this April.

"I just felt that it was time to start setting the tone," Drake said. "I look forward to give you the full version soon."
Apart from offering an update about the upcoming album, Drake also debuted a new single called "Summer Sixteen," which is expected to be on "Views From the 6."

The rapper was very visible over the weekend as he starred in two brand new commercials. In one T-Mobile spot, which aired during Super Bowl, Drake danced to his song "Hotline Bling," and ahead of the much awaited football match, the 29-year-old also starred in an ad where he reminisced about his first pair of Air Jordans.

In the T-Mobile commercial, Drake's name was mentioned among several other artists who are performing at this year's Grammy Awards, but on Monday morning, the rapper denied that he will be performing at the awards ceremony, tweeting, "I am not performing at the Grammy Awards…but hey, it's the thought that counts."

While his fans were disappointed with this, many are relieved to finally have a release date to look forward to for "Views From The Six."

In a new interview with BReal TV's The Smokebox, Drake's in-house producer, Noah "40" Shebib said that the album is close to being completed.

"We're getting very, very close," said Shebib, adding that for them it's just a matter of finding the space to make a project that is based around their city and coming to the West Coast to escape the winter and find a good creative space to finish the album.

"The time will come when Drake's ready to pull the trigger," he said.
