Get ready for more DC content through "Teen Titans."
DC's television adaptation of "Teen Titans" might have the Doom Patrol in it as suggested by Geoff Johns. The information came about after a Twitter conversation between Johns and actor Ryan Potter who is set to play Beast Boy. The two had just met and had talked intensely about developing "Titans." In their conversation, the executive from DC mentioned Doom Patrol, which fans quickly picked up.
Crafting the narrative inspiration for the "Teen Titans" will most likely come heavily from comics and the hit animated TV series. The project seems to be moving forward on schedule, with the production filling the slots for their lead characters and some hints of their backstories as well.
The Doom Patrol is a group of superheroes which debuted in 1963 and has undergone several changes over the decades, with changing members signing up to battle different villains like the Brotherhood of Evil. At one point, Beast Boy became a part of the team too.
If the creative team behind "Titans" decides to include the Doom Patrol, they might go and adapt it straight from the comics and flesh out Beast Boy's history. This could be a good sign for the still in development series as it tries to establish its leads with a backstory showing the audience a glimpse of their old lives before forming the "Teen Titans."
Earlier this month, reports came out that the Flying Graysons will be making an appearance on the show and this could hint that they are planning to use this storyline to give Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) a deeper emotional depth for his character Dick Grayson. Other actors who will be headlining "Titans" are Tegan Croft as Raven, Anna Diop as Starfire, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove, and Lindsey Gort as Amy Rohrbach.
"Titans" is expected air around summer next year.
