Decapitated referee VIDEO: Angry mob dismembers referee after soccer game, puts head on a stick in middle of field

A video showing a decapitated referee has shocked the world after the official was lynched by an angry mob following a separate stabbing incident during a soccer game in Brazil.

The terrifying incident took place after a referee sent off a player in an amateur soccer match in the north of Brazil. The player refused to leave the pitch and confronted the ref, sparking an angry exchange between the pair.

As things continued to escalate, the referee, now identified as Octavio da Silva Catanhede Jordan, took out a pocket knife and started repeatedly stabbing the player, identified as 30 year old Josenir dos Santos.

The horrific attack resulted in the player being rushed to hospital, but he died on the way from his extensive stab wounds.

The extraordinary attack sparked even more morbid scenes as an angry lynch mob came together to take out vigilante justice against the referee.

The mob surrounded the ref, decapitated him, and removed each of his limbs. They then proceeded to stick his head on a stick right there in the middle of the soccer pitch to complete their revenge attack.

The shocking incident has stunned Brazil and soccer fans across the world, and to further add to the morbid incident, a video of the decapitated referee has been leaked online showing his dismembered bloody body.

Maranhão Valter Costa, the Chief of Police in Santa Ines, in the north of Brazil has said, "Reports of witnesses have indicated some people that were in place at the time of the fact. We will identify and hold accountable all those involved. A crime will never justify another. Actions like this do not collaborate with the legality of a state law."

A video of the incident has been leaked onto Liveleak.com.
