After announcing her decision to quit "Dance Moms" this season, Abby Lee Miller decided to take more drastic steps about losing weight by undergoing gastric sleeve surgery.

Miller went through a successful 45-minute surgery at the Smart Dimensions Surgical Center to lessen the size of her stomach by 80 percent. But the 50-year-old dance instructor admitted in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she is still hurting from the procedure.

"I'm in pain, not gonna lie," Miller stated while being interviewed in her recovery bed. "Kind of in my mid-section, but it's not a burning pain. It's not a throbbing pain. It's just kind of a discomfort."

She also mentioned that she has to be on a stringent liquid diet for the next three weeks, where she can only drink water and protein shakes through a shot glass.

Miller also revealed during the interview that going through the surgery made her feel in control of her own life, since she claims that doing "Dance Moms" on Lifetime took over her personal decision making.

"I felt for seven seasons that someone else was in control of my life — telling me when I could eat and what I could eat and when I could use the ladies' room," the owner of the Abby Lee Dance Company stated. "When you're so busy shooting 12 hours a day, you just eat what someone sticks in front of you. Now I feel a lot freer and more confident in my everyday activities."

In a separate report with Entertainment Tonight prior to the surgery, Miller also revealed how the staff of her former show should be blamed for keeping her overweight. The staff reportedly gave her an Italian sub or a hoagie sandwich when she was trying to start being a vegan.

Aside from her battle with weight that she already tried to solve through the surgery, Miller must also face her prison sentencing for fraud on May 8.
