It seems CD Projekt RED plans to reinvent the wheel with its upcoming dystopian science fiction (sci-fi) roleplaying game (RPG), "Cyberpunk 2077," as they have claimed that "everything" about it will be better than anything they have created prior.

In particular, they say it will be better than their previous multiple "Game of the Year" awardee, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," also an RPG but with a fantasy setting. The developers believe that they have the capacity to make a worthy award successor to the said RPG, which was crowned as 2015's overall "Game of the Year," as well as one of the best RPGs of all time.

Adam Kicinski, co-founder of the game development studio, told Polish market analyst Strefa Inwestorów about the company's plans of surpassing their past achievements. He shared, "Every time we make a game we want to make a better one than before. We want to experiment in new fields which weren't yet explored in The Witcher. I can't say much about Cyberpunk, but our ambitions are set really high because that's our style of work. We want to go even higher, and especially seeing how we're having a business chat, we're interested in Cyberpunk being even more commercially significant."

While the "Witcher" saga was undeniably both a critical and commercial success for the studio, Kicinski has added that they were far from being a world record, expressing that individual games can sell much better. It is worth noting that there are three games in the "Witcher" saga, with each iteration outshining the last in terms of overall success and quality. With this in mind, CD Projekt RED believes that "Cyberpunk 2077" will also outshine "The Witcher 3."

Although not many details have been revealed about the game, Kicinski has spilled that "Cyberpunk 2077" will have an online element. As to what exactly this would entail, Kicinski did not specify.

Fans of the studio will have to wait a long time though, as CD Projekt RED wants to ensure that "Cyberpunk 2077" will beat "The Witcher 3."
