Earlier this month, "Captain America:Civil War" directors Joe and Anthony Russo had a Q&A session hosted by Collider at the IMAX headquarters in Los Angeles. During the conversation, the directors talked about "Civil War" and gave updates about where they are now in the filming process.
The directors confirmed that they are now editing the upcoming film.
"The next month is probably the hardest part of the editing process," Anthony said.
He added that in a month's time, the film will be "kind of set in stone" at that point and they'll be working on visual effects for six months after that.
Joe said that so far, this has been the easiest post-processing that they ever had to do in a film because everyone involved in the film has been very happy with where the movie is right now. He also said that for them, the trickiest part was perfecting the special effects because the effects that they are doing for "Civil War" are larger in scale than what they did for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
Joe also revealed that they are finishing up on the score and that Henry Jackman is working on it. They will also be working on some reshoots sometime this month and said that they are expecting to be done with the movie in two and a half months.
When asked whether "Civil War" will be darker than previous Marvel films, Anthony said that while they always thought of "Winter Soldier" as a political thriller, they think of the upcoming film as a psychological thriller.
"It's a complicated movie, and yes, it divides these people that you've known to be a team," he said.
But Joe also said that the movie will still have some humor in it. He revealed that there's a portion of the film that is more humorous than the funny parts in "The Winter Soldier" because there are characters in "Civil War" who are funnier.
"Captain America: Civil War" premieres on May 6.
