Fans will get to see the Reagan family once again when "Blue Bloods" returns for its sixth season. With the premiere just a few weeks away, the hit CBS show has released more information about the premiere episode, which will see Danny (Donny Wahlberg) pursuing a serial killer who may have a personal vendetta against him.

According to the episode's synopsis via Cartermatt, Danny and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) investigate a possible serial killer who sends a horrifying message to Danny. Meanwhile, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) thinks about applying for a judgeship. Frank (Tom Selleck) is in a bind when a mayoral candidate accuses him of corruption, and Eddie (Vanessa Ray) must face her estranged father when he shows up in the hospital.

New promotional photos have also been released for the episode titled "Worst Case Scenario," with one picture showing Danny going over clues as he tries to find the murderer. Danny is also seen cautiously entering an apartment backed by his team, while one photo shows him confronting two men.

Another shot shows Frank looking pensive as he walks down the hall with some members of his staff behind him, while one photo has Frank talking to the press, presumably to address the corruption allegations. And it looks like that will only be one of the patriarch's problems in the premiere, as he will also have to deal with a threat to the city following a terrorist attack in the Middle East. Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) is also seen looking concerned as he talks to Frank.

Meanwhile, filming for season 6 is ongoing as the Daily Mail released some photos showing Wahlberg in action. Filming by a New York City river, the actor is seen trying to diffuse a tense situation as a woman points a gun at him. Another photo shows Wahlberg grabbing the gun from the woman, effectively disarming her.

"Blue Bloods" season 6 premieres on Friday, Sept. 25, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
