'Better Call Saul' season 2 premiere: two trailers launched ahead of release date

"Better Call Saul" has released two new teaser trailers ahead of its season 2 premiere, and the first clip shows lawyer Jimmy McGill, also known as Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) about to embrace the darker side of the law. Last season, Jimmy was betrayed and constantly put down by his friends and family members, but in the new season, it looks like fans will be seeing a brand new guy as he transforms into the shady lawyer that is Saul.

The first teaser shows Jimmy walking in a parking lot, while he is heard in a voiceover introducing himself as Saul. He is also heard saying that he is a lawyer, not a criminal, and at this Jimmy stops walking and looks pensive.

Several voices are heard, and one says, "Slipping Jimmy with a law degree is like a chimp with a machine gun." Someone else says that he remembers Jimmy saying something about doing the right thing, to which Jimmy replies, "Well, you know what? It's never stopping me again."

The second teaser trailer shows Jimmy in action as he tells someone that he has nothing to lose. Set to the tune of 2Pac's "Keep Ya Head Up," the lawyer is heard saying that his fee is $140 but he'll "gladly accept $70."

Someone asks him he who he is, and at one point, Jimmy is on the ground with his hands tied behind his back.

"My name is McGill," he gasps. He cringes as someone points a gun at him, and towards the end of the clip, Jimmy is seen hitting the big time as he counts bundles of money and places them in a bag.

Speaking to IGN about his character, Odenkirk said that when fans see Jimmy in season two, the lawyer will not be instantly transformed, though there will be changes in him.

"He is not all of sudden completely transformed," said the actor. Odenkirk mentions "Breaking Bad" lead character Walter White, and said that Walter didn't really change but became "more of who he was in his inner core."

"But in the case of Jimmy McGill, he is transforming," said Odenkirk. "But it's happening in a realistic and I must say, somewhat painful way."

"Better Call Saul" season 2 premieres in 2016 on AMC.
