'Battlefield 5': DICE remains mum about game but releases new trailer for 'Mirror's Edge Catalyst'

 Battlefield 4 official web site

Fans of the "Battlefield" gaming franchise have been waiting for more details about the upcoming game since it was reported that DICE is working on "Battlefield 5." So far, the gaming company has been keeping mum about the game, and any news that has come out about the project is almost entirely rumors or fan theories.

But on Wednesday, Feb. 3, EA DICE Senior Video and Media Director/Editor Randy Evans took to Twitter to tease that a "big trailer" is dropping this week, which made gamers automatically think that this might be the week that the official "Battlefield 5" trailer will be revealed.

However, it was not the trailer for the much-anticipated game that was released—it was for the follow up to DICE's other game, "Mirror's Edge Catalyst." While there are fans who have been waiting for the "MEC" follow up since the first game was released in 2008, many were disappointed with the fact that there are no updates about the fifth "Battlefield" game and that DICE continues to be silent about it.

"Thought for sure this was gonna be the "Battlefield 5 trailer," one fan tweeted. Another gamer tweeted the same thing, but added that the "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" trailer "is great too."

One thing that adds to fans' frustrations is the fact that any news that comes out of the gaming company is immediately thought to be connected to "Battlefield 5." While it is certain that the game will debut at some point, it is unknown when exactly the game will make it to gaming consoles.

For now, it appears that DICE is not ready to talk about the game yet. According to Gamingbolt, one particular Twitter user asked DICE technical director Johan Andersson when people are going to get information about "Battlefield 5" and when it can be expected to be around, and Anderson said, "nope."

The website reports that the same Twitter user asked DICE the same question, and the company's Twitter handle said that they will announce the game on the micro blogging site once it is available.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
