'Batman vs Superman' Batmobile fully revealed

 Warner Bros.

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder revealed the new Batmobile in its entirety on Thursday.

Snyder previously leaked a photo of the back of the iconic vehicle – partially obscured by a tarp – and a murky photo of Ben Affleck as Batman, standing next to the Batmobile.

The newest photo shows an armored vehicle, sleeker than the "Tumbler" used in the "Dark Knight" movies. There are machine guns mounted on the front of the Batmobile, several vent panels, and small headlights near the mammoth tires.

"Here's a real picture of the #Batmobile," Snyder wrote in the caption, alluding to the photos of the vehicle leaked during film shooting.

Affleck will play opposite Henry Cavill, who is reprising his "Man of Steel" role. Diane Lane will return as Clark Kent's Earth mother, Martha, and Laurence Fishburne will return as Daily Planet Editor-in-Chief Perry White. Amy Adams will also reprise her role as Lois lane.

"Fast & Furious" actress Gal Gadot has been tapped to play Wonder Woman, and "The Social Network" star Jesse Eisenberg will play Lex Luther. Bruce Wayne's butler, Alfred, will be played by Jeremy Irons.

Principal photography for the highly anticipated film began in Detroit in May, and the film will be shot in Illinois, Africa, and in the South Pacific.

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" was originally slated for a July 17, 2015 release, but was pushed back to May 6, 2016 in January 2014.

In a controversial decision, Marvel announced in April 2014 that "Captain America 3" would be released on the same May 2016 date.

Warner Bros expressed confusion at their competitor's decision.

"It doesn't make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date but there is a lot of time between now and 5/6/16,"the entertainment company said in a statement. "However at this time, we are not considering a change of date for 'Batman vs. Superman.'"

A third film starring Batman and Superman – "Justice League" – is expected to follow "Dawn of Justice."
