'The Bachelorette' 2015 finale recap: Kaitlyn Bristowe's final decision

This week on the season finale of "The Bachelorette," Nick Viall and Shawn Booth met Kaitlyn Bristowe's parents, and at the end of the show, Kaitlyn stopped one of the guys from proposing before accepting the other one's ring.

Before the two men got to meet Kaitlyn's parents, she and her mom had a little talk and her mother seemed a bit concerned that Nick, who was also a finalist during Andi Dorfman's season, joined season 11 in the middle of its run and was now in the final two. Kaitlyn's mom admitted that she was shocked that Nick made it to the finals, and Kaitlyn told her that they got intimate early on. As her mom reminded her that there's more to a relationship than the physical aspect of it, Nick arrived.

The Bristowes were nice enough to Nick, but Kaitlyn's mom decided to be honest with him.

"You were possessive. You were jealous. We saw this. I don't want to use the word arrogant, but who are you?" she asked during a private talk with him.

Nick told her that he's in love with Kaitlyn and that she's the most incredible woman he has ever met.

"If she will have me, I want her for the rest of my life," Nick said.

Later, it was Shawn's turn to meet Kaitlyn's family. Although he won Kaitlyn's father over quickly, her mom had some questions for him. She told him that she was concerned about his jealous nature and asked how he would handle that once he and Kaitlyn got out of the mansion. Shawn told her that they would continue to build their relationship on trust. When Kaitlyn's mom asked how he felt when he learned that Kaitlyn got intimate with Nick, he told her that he's in love with Kaitlyn. Later, he asked both of her parents for their blessing to propose.

Finally, Kaitlyn's big moment to choose came. She wore a fully beaded, champagne colored gown for the occasion, and Nick, wearing a dark suit, came to talk to her first. As he was about to go down on one knee, Kaitlyn stopped him and reminded him of what they talked about, that if she didn't feel the same way as him, she would let him know.

"I want to find something that has gone wrong and the only explanation that I have is my heart is just with somebody else," she told him.

Nick said, "Okay," and that there wasn't anything else that she could say to make him less confused. Later, on the limo ride, Nick threw away the Claddagh ring he got with Kaitlyn in Ireland and told the camera that he is "the world's biggest joke."

Shawn, also dressed in a dark suit, came to meet Kaitlyn and he told her that she has made him the happiest man in the world and that all he wanted to do was make her the "happiest girl in the world."

Kaitlyn told him that he makes her laugh and he allows her to be herself, and although she made some mistakes, she said, "I never want you to question what we have ever again because I am completely yours."

Shawn got down on one knee and proposed with a Neil Lane ring, and Kaitlyn accepted.
