This week on "Arrow," Diggle (David Ramsey) was tasked to rescue his wife from a terrorist organization, and to do so, he had to interrogate his brother Andy (Eugene Byrd) about what he knows. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) started to doubt herself after she became paralyzed and thought that the Arrow team might be better off without her.

Next week, in the episode titled "Unchained," familiar faces Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) and Nyssa (Katrina Law) will be coming back to the show. As the two return to Star City, the Arrow team will be facing off against a formidable villain nicknamed The Calculator.

Last year, TVLine announced that "Everwood" alum Tom Amandes booked an arc on The CW show as DC Comics villain The Calculator. Described as a technical genius and a criminal mastermind, The Calculator—whose name is Noah Kuttler—uses his hacking skills and intensive knowledge of computer science to coax Roy out of retirement to do what he wants, and what follows is a battle with the Arrow team.

After news of Amandes's casting came to light, it was speculated that The Calculator might be Felicity's father, with some fans pointing out that she might have learned everything that she knows about computers from him. Furthermore, what happened to Felicity might also give The Calculator a reason to make an appearance in Star City, if he is indeed her father.

Executive producer Wendy Mericle spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the popular theory and while she did not confirm that The Calculator is Felicity's father, the producer did say that the two have a connection.

"Definitely tune in," said Mericle. "We are very excited about his character. He does have a connection with Felicity...Tom Amandes has been amazing in the role and is bringing a lot of kindness and a lot of malice to this character."

"Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
