Android 4.4 update for Motorola Droid Maxx, Ultra, and Mini on Verizon available now

The Android 4.4 KitKat update will begin to roll out for the Motorola Droid Maxx, Ultra, and Mini versions starting today.

The update is currently available for Motorola Droid smartphones users on the Verizon network.

The update is expected to roll out in phases, so customers should wait patiently to update their software.

The new update provides upgrades to many features, including the camera to improve the color quality of photos.

The Nexus series were among the first to receive the Android 4.4 KitKat software update when it was released last month. The Nexus 5 was launched pre-installed with Android 4.4, and updates for the Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 7 tablets were released shortly after. However, the update was not available for the Nexus 10. Motorola was quick to follow suit when it provided the 4.4 updates to its Moto X smartphone.

Google Play Editions of the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 also received the latest software.

Owners of the LG G2 in Korea will also begin receiving the latest update before the end of the year.
