Android 4.4.2 update for Galaxy Note 2 available OTA now; How to install manually

The long wait is over for users of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, as Samsung has finally begun to roll out the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat software update worldwide.

Owners with the international model of the Galaxy Note 2 will begin to receive the official firmware update.

The first country to receive the anticipated update is France. Users can download the software via KIES or access the download by going to Settings->About->Software Update. The update will be seeded to other countries soon.

Users will be notified of their eligibility for the Over-The-Air (OTA) update via a notification message. Make sure your phone battery is full or you have at least 50% of their battery life left before starting the update.

However, for those who wish to install the N7100XXUFND3 Android 4.4.2 update manually without waiting for the OTA update can do so by following instructions here.

The Android 4.4.2 software update will allow faster performance, white status bar icons, Samsung Wallet and KNOX.

Meanwhile, the South Korean company has begun to roll out the ndroid 4.4.2 update to the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE.

The roll out is in phases, and Vodafone users in the UK have bene reporting that they have received their update, labelled XXUFNC8.
