Following the success of its first season, "Akatsuki no Yona" has fans waiting for any word on the anticipated second season. Although the production has yet to announce if it's even in the making as of today, fans are hoping that Princess Yona's story won't end in such a cliffhanger like it did in the anime.

Earlier last year, the manga of the hit Japanese anime series "Akatsuki no Yona" suddenly went into hiatus as the author Mizuho Kusanagi was affected by the earthquake that hit Kumamoto, as reported by Sponichi Annex. Since then Kusanagi has been able to make a comeback with semi-regular updates for the much-loved manga series.

Despite their best efforts to exercise patience, the fans of "Akatsuki no Yona" are starting to lose hope, especially after the recent activity of the creative team behind the series. Last March, Anime News Network reported that "Akatsuki no Yona" released a two-part original video animation (OVA) that completely covered the backstory of the sad yellow dragon, Zeno.

In the first season of "Akatsuki no Yona," the characters' adventures ended with not a lot known about Zeno. All that the rest of Yona's crew knew was that Zeno was just a child tasked with the responsibility of carrying on his ancestor's legacy as the yellow dragon. Although the anime did hint at his complicated story, it was explained in the manga that Zeno, unlike the other dragons, has no previous ancestors because he is the original yellow dragon from way back when he was protecting their first king, Hiryuu.

There's much more to tell about the characters of "Akatsuki no Yona" and although the OVA was able to appease the fans at least for a little while, it looks like the best thing the creative team can give them is a new installment featuring the slowly but surely developing princess, her Hak and the loyal dragons.
