The second season of "Agent Carter" will be set in Los Angeles, and fans can expect a dash of old-time Hollywood glam when the show returns to ABC. While in L.A., Peggy (Hayley Atwell) will be working with the SSR under the newly promoted Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj), and she'll have Jarvis (James D'Arcy) with her in her new adventures.
During an appearance at the Fan Expo Canada, Atwell talked about her character and the show's season 2, and according to Comic Book Resources, the actress said that she never anticipated that the show would be renewed for a second season.
"I knew it was well received," said the actress, adding that she didn't think that the ratings were high enough for a second season to be a "done deal." She explained, "It was really due to the online support of the fans and also the fact that the reviews have been so positive."
Atwell said that she's looking forward to the new season because Peggy will be in a different place.
"She's in the Hollywood, glamorous world where they have this gangster, dark underbelly in the 40's, which was kind of like 'L.A. Confidential' film noire," she said.
This season, viewers can expect Peggy to have a new spring in her step as she has stopped grieving Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, and she will be ready to open her heart, with some possible love interests to be featured on the show.
Atwell said that although many fans love Captain America and Peggy together, Peggy will move on with her life as the film "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" revealed that she gets to live to her 90s and she even gets to have a family.
"There will be a lot of different angles," she said. "There will certainly be more love interests and love triangles."
As for her enemy, Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan), Atwell revealed that she'll be back in season 2, saying, "We haven't seen the last of her."
"Agent Carter" season 2 will return midseason on ABC.
