Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is definitely worth more than his name indicates, and he has proven even more so after accidentally making millions of dollars due to Bitcoin.

This fortunate financial mistake could be traced back to 2014 when the rapper accepted more than 700 Bitcoins as payment for his "Animal Ambition" album. 50 Cent apparently stashed the Bitcoin and forgot about it until now. The rapper's cryptocurrency stash had then amounted to as much as $8 million following the upsurge in the value of Bitcoin in the recent months.

Back in 2014 though, the value of Bitcoin was just more or less $662 per coin, and 50 Cent's stash was only worth about $400,000. Now, each Bitcoin costs as much as $11,000, making 50 Cent's stashed album earnings worth $8.5 million.

The 42-year-old rapper then took to various social media sites to proclaim his excitement after remembering that he had a forgotten cryptocurrency account now worth millions. 50 Cent stated, "Not bad for a kid from South Side, I'm so proud of me. Ima keep it real, I forgot I did that sh*t lol." Adding to his luck is the fact that he still remembered his login info for the 2014 account.

His fans were then quick to refer him to other platforms of cryptocurrency apart from Bitcoin and suggested that he does the same thing again, which is to invest in cryptocurrencies since their value might increase several folds into the future.

Still, those who think of following 50 Cent's luck may want to tread lightly, as there are risks involved in investing in any cryptocurrency, such as the fluctuating value which may rapidly shift higher or lower depending on how erratic the market is. It can be recalled that even Bitcoin experienced this dramatic spike and plunge in value recently, where last month, the value of Bitcoin went as high as $17,000 each coin, only to plummet rapidly to just $10,000 earlier this month.
