'The Young and the Restless' spoilers, recap: Jack warns Adam to stay silent about what happened in the park

Thursday on "The Young and the Restless," Chelsea overheard Billy and Phyllis talking about Gabriel not being Jack's son. Billy said that they need to run their own DNA test and that he'd get a sample at the meeting.

Meanwhile at the hospital, Jack confronted Victor about what he did just to get what he wants. Jack told him that he's going to pay, but Victor denied everything. Victor said that he thought he was shooting Marco and he did it out of self-defense. Victor then mused how much Jack would like it if everyone knew that he killed Kelly and the men on the cargo ship — he could get extradited, and possibly even get the death penalty. Jack calmed down and agreed to stick to Victor's story about what happened at the park. But Jack said that someone else knows that Marco was impersonating him, and that person is Gabriel Bingham.

Later, Adam got a call from Chelsea, and she told him that he's in trouble. At the penthouse, Chelsea filled Adam in about Billy and Phyllis' plan to run their own DNA test. She said that his true identity could come out. Adam decided to resign because it's too dangerous for him to stay on at Newman-Abbott now.

At Newman-Abbott, Adam told Phyllis and Billy that he's stepping down because Victor is back as Chelsea looked on. Phyllis thought that he was acting like he was planning to run from something. They wondered why he's no longer interested in running the company, and Billy said that he knows that he's not Jack's son. Adam said that Jack is not his father and that Jack is in on the scheme, thinking that they can work together against Victor. After Chelsea and Adam left, Phyllis said that something was not right. She got a call from Stitch that Jack is awake.

At the hospital, Billy and Phyllis told Jack that the others would be arriving soon. Jack and Phyllis embraced as Kyle, Summer, Abby and Ben arrived. Jack told them that Victor shot him in self-defense.

Here's what to expect on "The Young and the Restless" on Friday, July 24: Neil comes between Nikki and Victor; Sage's world comes crashing down; Paul and Christine chase down a lead; Jack tells Adam to stay silent about what happened at the park.

"The Young and the Restless" airs Mondays to Fridays at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
