The world's "most powerful console" is apparently trading blows with a gaming PC, as the developers of Xbox One X games compare the upcoming device to a high-end computer.

The developer of "Super Lucky's Tale," Playful Corp, and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Paul Bettner, has made claims that Microsoft's Xbox One X can deliver performance on a par with a high-end gaming PC. "Super Lucky's Tale" is one of the first few games to be ported to the One X from the older and less powerful Xbox One. As such, Bettner saw fit to give his estimate on how the performance of the One X holds up.

Bettner added that the One X is a console capable of delivering true 4K experiences. Still, when asked how much more powerful the One X is compared to its predecessor, Bettner stated that it might be difficult to gauge since there are different individual components within the console that need their own individual benchmarks in order to truly see the improvements.

Despite this, Bettner claimed that the One X was one of the easiest consoles they have worked on to deliver high-end performance. He was also proud of to say this since this was the fastest that they were able to achieve stable performance with a 4K resolution on a console, and he has his engineers to thank for that.

It is important to note that Bettner and his development team compared the Xbox One X's performance and a gaming PC's using only "Super Lucky's Tale." While they claimed that the performance was shockingly close between the two, other games which have different development teams and graphical quality may have different results. Whether or not the One X performs like a high-end gaming PC on other games remains to be seen when the console launches.

The Xbox One X is set to arrive on Nov. 7.
